THINGS YOU MUST KNOW BEFORE YOU GIVE UP!

NEVER GIVE UP
NEVER GIVE UP

Things you must know before you give up!

Sometimes there comes a point where you get fed up with everything and everyone around you. It simply feels like a breaking point. You may feel mentally exhausted and just want to give up on everything. In any task you take up, there are cycles of excitement, enthusiasm, creativity, and they are followed by a feeling of despair, discouragement, and the desire or urge to quit. Our mind always desires an immediate result and reward. We need positive response and reciprocation for our work which in turn helps and motivates us to achieve more goals. But sometimes, we feel so exhausted not just physically, emotionally and mentally and we feel like giving up.

Things you must know before you give up!

ASK YOURSELF SOME QUESTIONS?

Ask yourself if you need something if you need some help or motivation? Are you just sabotaging yourself and your plans? Is someone constantly degrading you? Are you afraid? Do you have proper knowledge of what you are doing? Are you not happy with the progress you are making? Are you being consistent or not?

DO YOU HAVE A BACKUP PLAN?

When starting a task after setting a goal, you must always be ready with plan B. If you think plan A is not working out even after you are doing your best, then you must go with plan B.

DID YOU SET A SMART GOAL?

  • Specific—you know exactly how will feel when you achieve your goal.
  • Measurable—you must have a specific plan to measure your progress as you proceed.
  • Attainable—you have the attitude and aptitude to turn your dream into reality.
  • Realistic—you are willing and able to do the work required.
  • Time-bound—you have set a concrete timeframe for completion to create a sense of urgency.

CONSEQUENCES OF GIVING UP TOO EARLY:

Many successful people failed a hundred times before they achieved their goals. Imagine if they gave up, the world would never have evolved. Just like the gas clouds need to accumulate and burst to form a shining star, sometimes your anxieties, frustration, insecurities, exhaustion etc. negative feelings pile up. This makes you want to quit. But remember when you are about to burst out of frustration, that is the time you are about to shine. There is always sunshine after a night.

Giving up might look and sound easy, but the consequences of it are only regrets, guilt and disappointment. Quitting is worse than losing.

REMEMBER THE EXCITEMENT PHASE

Remember why you started and how badly you wanted to achieve your goal. Just ask yourself why would you give up on your dreams just because you are frustrated. Remember to take a break, rest and then resume with your task instead of giving up. If you quit in the middle of a task, you have to start from scratch which will be more difficult. The excitement phase must be constant throughout the process.

KEEP AN EYE ON THE REWARD

Sometimes things will not work out exactly how you wanted them to be. In such cases, you must learn to adapt to different ways and try to achieve your goals in an unplanned way. It is ok if things do not go according to your plan. Achieving your goal is all you want.

Do not forget to love yourself and find peace within yourself!
