Practicing Self-Compassion:

Overcome self-doubt because self-doubt holds you back from taking a leap of faith in all aspects of your life. We all make mistakes and we learn from them and it is ok to do so. When we doubt our abilities, it is often because we do not want to make any room for mistakes and try anything new. We can mitigate self-doubt and fear of failure by practicing self-compassion, without thinking about the consequences.

Remember Your Past Achievements

Remember the time when you may have been scared to do something, but it ended up going well! If you did not experience such a thing, do it now! It helps to reflect on all your achievements where something challenge turned into something amazing. Most of the achievements are born out of initial uncertainty or self-doubt. It helps to remind ourselves about those times that things have gone right because the same thing could happen in the present moment as well. On the other side, it is a bad idea to focus too much on the past or past failures we might have had. Every moment is a new opportunity to do something amazing, even if things did not go right in the first place.

Do Not Compare Yourself to Others

They say that comparison is the thief of happiness. This saying is true in many ways. If you are experiencing self-doubt because you are afraid you will not accomplish that task at the same level as someone else and it can be a paralyzing feeling. Every person’s journey and path to success are different. What we can control and focus on is our path and where we want to take it, regardless of where other people are at or what they have done.

Practice positive thinking

Negative thoughts and feelings interrupt, sometimes it is very difficult to recognize because we become used to them. Imposter syndrome-like condition precipitates these negative thoughts and tells us that we are not worthy of the place we are at or that we will not produce good work results. Next time when these thoughts enter your head and make you doubt yourself. Just take a moment and ask yourself if you believe that they are true. Positive thinking can help in being confident and overcoming self-doubt.

Seek validation From Within

While it feels good when we receive support and reassurance from others that we are doing a great job or that we are capable of accomplishing any task, it is equally important to have faith in ourselves. Constant reassurance means nothing if we still do not believe in ourselves. Even if we are not confident enough about where we are at, it is a good idea to practice being accepting of our strengths and all that we have to offer.

Stop self-criticism:

We will always be the harshest critic of our own. It is a positive reminder to treat ourselves with the same kindness and compassion that we have for others, instead of being so critical about ourselves and our own decisions.

Keep a Journal

Journaling is always a therapy that must be practiced in daily life. Writing down your thoughts and feelings onto paper might be a good release. You will realize after you see them written down, that they may not be as stressful as you thought they were. This can help you in gradually overcoming self-doubt.

Selfcare routine

According to my point of view, self-care must be on the top of your to-do list. Self-care in the form of workout, skincare, outdoor games, practicing music, and art as well. This is also a kind of therapy that helps a lot. There’s no harm in taking care of yourself and pampering yourself. When you keep yourself busy, there will not have time for overthinking and you can overcome self-doubt.

Seek Professional Help

I think that this might be the last thing on my list. Seeking professional therapy is not madness and one must not be ashamed of doing so. It may help to visit a mental health professional to overcome self-doubt, especially if these thoughts and feelings persist to the point that makes it difficult for you to function in everyday life.
