FEAR
Do you have any fears? We all know what fear is. All of us have experienced one or more situations where we become afraid or anxious! Has that kind of fear stopped you from taking action? I admit I faced many such situations. That is something all humans face. We all have different levels of the threshold for fears just like we all have a different levels of thresholds for pain. The reason we stop taking action for doing something we fear is we do not like to step out of our comfort zone. A comfort zone is a zone that is familiar to us, where we feel safe and comfortable. And we feel a little awkward to come out of it.
Different people have different types of fears. What you can do easily, someone else might have a fear of even trying that task.
These are some most common types of fears
PUBLIC SPEAKING AND GIVING PRESENTATIONS
This is the most common one most people have. Most of the people are terrified to stand and speak in front of a crowd.
REJECTION
Some people have the fear of saying NO. Some people do not even try a task because they do not want to face rejection.
CHANGE
This fear is about leaving the comfort zone. Some people think that if they leave their present place or try to make some changes in life, they will end up in a worse situation. They do not want to leave their comfort zone even if their present state is miserable.
ANNOUNCING OR SHARING NEGATIVE NEWS
This one is obvious and self-explanatory. Some people get really awkward sharing negative news because they do not want to see others people’s apprehensive expressions.
FAILURE
Most people have the fear of failure. This is similar to the fear of rejection. In order to be successful in life, we must not be afraid to face failure.
TALKING OR SOCIALIZING
Most people who have anxiety issues can relate to this. Some people hesitate to make small talk because they think they might say something silly and appear stupid.
Do you relate to any of the above? Or do you have them now or did you have them in the past?
The truth is most of us experience this at some point in our lives.
Do the things you fear and you can conquer the fear. Do not let anything overpower you.
